Original label is still in one of the drawers! Beautiful afromosia teak sculpted handles are all intact. Interesting folding doors make this piece unique.

FYI, a little G-Plan history: Fresco was a hugely successful design for G-Plan. Introduced in 1966, it became G-Plan’s most successful ever range. V B Wilkins designed Fresco. He combined the pop art motif of the circle, seen on ceramics and other pieces from the 60s, with the newly fashionable sculptured look for furniture which came from Italy, with the Scandinavian style teak to produce the definitive G-Plan style.

For 1969, G-Plan added more furniture to the Fresco range. That is the time frame for this 5ft very collectible credenza (or may be known as a sideboard to our British friends).

For you students of history–Younger Ltd was a high quality British furniture manufacturer that led style and contemporary taste in the 50s, 60s and 70s. Younger furniture was low volume, well made and aimed at the top end of the market. Younger was amongst the first firms to make Scandinavian style furniture in the fifties and one of the first manufacturers to abandon the style in search of something more original in the late sixties—added the Afromosia touch.
